Meet Trockman Microfinance Initiative

Indiana University's Premier Microfinance Consulting Organization

Who We Are

Trockman Microfinance Initiative (TMI) at Indiana University Bloomington (IU) is a student-led organization within the Kelley Institute for Social Impact (KISI) office. Our mission is poverty alleviation through community centered and sustainable business solutions.

To accomplish this, we focus on microfinance consulting, both in the United States and overseas. We work in teams to consult with nonprofits, travel internationally to conduct fieldwork, develop financial tools tailored to local needs, host speaker events with industry professionals, hold weekly discussions on inclusive finance, and more.

Ultimately, use concepts from the Kelley School of Business curriculum, from financial modeling to impact measurement, to improve the well being of others on a local and global scale. By combining business with empathy, we hope to equip communities with the tools to build long-term economic resilience.

At Trockman Microfinance Initiative, we strive to bring the world to Bloomington. We've traveled and worked in 4 continents, in countries ranging from Rwanda to Guatemala. This sense of global stewardship is fundamental to our mission here.

We also love traveling around the US. Our domestic partners allow us to experience work across a range of industries including consulting, tech, and finance.
